Strawberry Season

is on us. We went to Spooner’s yesterday and got two quarts of day old strawberries.
Nancy made an angel food cake and had strawberry shortcake for dessert.

This morning she went to the Puyallup Farmer’s Market and got two flats of fresh
picked this morning strawberries. I’m not sure what she has planned for them.

We made another trip to Spooner’s this afternoon and she bought four flats of day old berries. She is out buying pectin right now.

She made 25 pints of raspberry jelly, strawberry jam, and a mix of both berries.
There is another jar of the dregs we are eating with toast, as well.

There are a few farms but actually many of them are a few yards of home gardens. One farm is growing commercially while another few small farms exist but nothing big. Strawberry is expensive.
