This is the recipe she used.

Ohhhhhhhhhh, I've never put ham in my Cuban sandwiches! I might like them better if I did - always thought them bland and wondered what the big deal about them was.

Okay, will try that next time! Thanks, John!

My pulled pork is tasty with the North Carolina rub and our home made dill pickles come through nicely, as well. I put Dijon mustard on mine while I eat it.
Also, I've never made them with my barbecued pulled pork, just some sort of leftover loin roast. Good idea!

A dozen years ago, we did some "Around the World" cooking, and Cuba was one of the visits. WHo remembers this?
A couple folks made versions of Cubanos. https://netcookingtalk.com/forums/threads/around-the-world-2nd-stop-cuba.17300/

Re-reading my notes, I can't believe my impression of the flavor of the sandwich. I guess they've grown on me - I order them often now. (I still don't like most of the other dishes, however.)

I miss Keltin and Mexico Karen and a few of the others.

Wow, what a great thread that was! Thanks, Kathy!
