I used to shop at two grocery stores that were wonderfully discounted in the UK.
Netto and Lidl.
The not-so-cheaps were Sainsbury's and Waitrose.

in the first link, Lidl said they're going to undersell Walmart by 50% (...from memory) - which should be interesting.

We went in an Aldi once, didn't buy anything, same for Trader Joe's. I think we might have bought some red peppers there though. We don't often buy prepackaged meals and the few canned, staple items we buy are mainly tomatoes, beans, broth/stock and soups for recipes. Of these items we tend to stick with name brands. I wonder how they intend to cut prices by 50% on meats, seafood and fresh veges in the USA. Not much wiggle room in margins for that stuff.:huh:
