"refried" black beans-

-canned black beans, drained
-lard
-green chiles, canned; drained
-salt/pepper/cumin/

smush these ingredients together & cook on the stove on low, stirring very, very often.

I usually spread refried beans on an oiled plate and put in the oven to warm through. Another good ingredient is to drizzle with chipotle oil (made by pressing a can of chipoltles through a seive, take all the stuff leftover from the puree and put in a jar, fill with oil, refrigerate). I put cheese, green onions on top towards the end.

yepper, i use scallion on my recipe, too, when i've got them in my veggie stash. cheese, too.
