Thank you for the info Bam. I saw the expensive part. I never thought about it with the pellet stoves for heat. I wonder what is used as a binder in the pellets and if it is good for me.

So far as easy. Good good takes good work.

Andy, I've never cooked on a pellet cooker, but a lot of the best barbecue cooks in the country have won using that style cooker.

Pellet cookers can cook nearly unattended for hours, with even, well-controlled heat. As long as competitors using these units stay sober enough not to let the cooker run out of pellets, all they have to worry about is a power outage or someone pulling out the plug to the auger (which feeds the pellets into the firebox).

Traeger is one of the best known, respected brands. I would love to have one!

I've used a Traeger for the community meals we do. They do seem to hold a nice steady temperature as long as the hopper doesn't jam. Nice BIG cooking area, and clean to work with.
