Ever wonder why red wine and fish don't go together?

But as noted in the article, "low-iron red wines might be a good match with seafood." For example, Red Burgundy (the real stuff from France, not some Central Valley plonk that has usurped the name) or Pinot Noir is the classic pairing with salmon.

I wouldn't know Doug since I don't drink frog piss which it all is to me. I use pretty much 2 red and 2 white wines to cook with and that is the extent of my wine knowledge.

I can't comment as I've never been that intimate with a frog, or with any other amphibian for that matter.
