We have had some heavy rains recently and started noticing these strange little bugs that were migrating from the lawn onto the patio. The ones that were still alive would hop across the concrete heading away from the grass, and there was an unbelievable amount of dead ones at the back of the patio. Come to find out (thanks to google), they are lawn shrimp. They look just like tiny little shrimp. Never heard of them before, soooooo strange. May you never have lawn shrimp.

Skewer them, slap on some olive oil and S&P, and grill quickly over a very hot fire. When they begin to pop, they're ready. Slather with some good BBQ sauce, Like Sweet Baby Ray's, and serve over rice. Yum!

We call'em crawdads, here. Along with lobster, they are related to cockroaches...just took a tastier little turn off the family tree.

Crawdads? We call crayfish crawdads and vice-versa. These lawn shrimp don't look anything like miniature lobsters, but I can see how they might be related.
