Wondering why Wheat bread stays fresh longer than White Bread?

Wheat bread lasts much longer (shelf life) than white bread? Why?

Wheat bread has more fibre in it and bacterias find it more difficult to find sustenance from it. What molds need to act is moisture and if in bread has more fiber, it´s texture is less moisture than those breads with less fiber.

Well, that´s just my theory.

There is actually oil in the wheat germ, which is a part of the whole wheat flour, but usually not in white flour. It's called...
