I just read this AM that the FDA is close to approving the sale of Genetically modified salmon to the general public. The pro is that a salmon reaches market size in half the time. The con is that we really do not know what the effects on the human body would be from eating food that has been genetically played with. Another con is that these fish, if allowed to escape from their pens, are capable of out eating natural salmon and driving the natural species to extinction.
Another case is that Monsanto has produced a genetically modified strain of corn that when eaten by bugs causes the bugs stomach to explode and the bug dies. They say "not to worry" by the time humans eat it, whatever causes this is gone. Funny thing, it has been found in the bloodstream of pregnant human women.
I think my feelings probably show through, so, with that said, what do you think?
