Cipollini Onions (Tart)

Last night I watched Million Dollar Decorators. The owner/chef? of Tavern Restaurant in L.A. taught one of the decorators how to make a Cipollini Onion Tart. I searched & searched for the recipe, but couldn't find it.

Can you describe the taste, and does anyone have a similar recipe?

I did find a Cipollini tart that sounds great, but this looked more like a pie/quiche.

... and, a beautiful side dish - Balsamic Glazed Roasted Cipollini Onions.

Any other dishes using same you recommend?

I can't help you with the tart, but I have had something similar to the balsamic glazed cipollinis. If I remember correctly, the recipe was on the bag that the onions came it. They were fantastic, love those little things.

I grew cipollinis several years. I could only find seed but at the time had access to a greenhouse and starting them early enough to mature was not an issue. Well, worth the effort though.

Maybe I should move to Oregon, Mr. GJ. My supermarket delivery came today & they were out iof blueberries. Go figure. So... now I have sour cream, & no blueberries. A little off topic I know, but how does a large market run out in California? Rant over. Guess, I'll check them out when I get to the store.
