Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Meatballs:
1 lb ground beef
1 lb ground pork
2 c soft bread crumbs
2 tbsp finely chopped onion
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 tbsp butter or margarine

Combine, mixing well. Shape into 1 inch balls. Brown in butter over medium heat. Drain. Place meatballs in 13x9x2 baking dish.

Sauce:
3 tbsp cornstarch
1 c vinegar
3/4 c sugar
3 drops hot sauce
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 green pepper, diced
1 (20 oz) can pineapple chunks, drained
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce

Combine cornstarch, vinegar, and sugar in saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until clear and thickened. Stir in remaining ingredients. Pour over meatballs. Bake at 300F for 40 minutes.

Serve hot from chafing dish. Yield: about 6 dozen meatballs
