You can control the spiciness of this by using less red pepper flakes.
Enjoy! Debbie

Well I suppose it's a good thing I bought 6 lbs this weekend.... we'll just have to make it ground beef week, it's between sloppy joes, baked taco pasta, now this.
Nothing wrong with all 3!!!!

What brand hoisin sauce do you use? I have two: one is red and kind of sweet, the other is brown and tastes like BBQ and A1 mixed together. Not really happy with either.

That looks GREAT. My wife has a recipe she calls 'spicy noodle' that is made with spaghetti noodles. She also uses ground beef and prepares it in a wok.
I'll see about getting her recipe to compare the two.

I use what ever I can find. Right now I am using Kikkoman. The Hosin sauce is not to strong in this dish.

I made this tonight, Debbie and it was great!

I only used 1/2 teaspoon of ginger and 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes and it STILL had quite a kick!

Excellent dish!

I forgot that we can't edit posts after a half hour, so I'll add my photos here.

The spicy beef mixture

Chinese egg noodles (in steam - they really are very yellow!)

Szechwan Noodle and Beef, with a side of bok choy.

Excellent dish and PLENTY of heat for me, with only 1/2 teas of fresh ginger and 1/4 teas red pepper flakes.

I made this yet again last night.

(High Cheese, I used Lee Kum Kee hoisin sauce, which is sweet and salty, and gives the sauce a beautiful brown color).

This time, I thought that ground pork would be great in this dish instead of ground beef, so I'll use that next time.

Also, the dish screamed for eggplants! I picked a few mini eggplants from my garden (Hansel variety), cut them in chunks, sauteed them in a little sesame oil, and added them to the sauce.

Used linguine this time, since I had it. I really love this stuff!
