TRUTH !!
While Gable was with the Eighth Air Force, the Air Marshall of the
Luftwaffe, Hermann Goering, ordered a bounty on Gable's head, assuming that
killing Gable would be a huge propaganda tool.
Unfortunately, it turns out that Clark Gable was Hitler's favorite screen
actor. When he heard about the bounty he was furious, and made Goering
rescind the order.
