I had an interesting discussion over the weekend.
Palm oil used to be used in soaps (Think Palmolive (Palm - Olive)). Unless you are now using all natural soaps, it has generally been removed. It has come to light that obtaining Palm oil damages the rain forests and has had severe impact on the animals in the forest. In particular Orangutans. Hence a lot of natural soapers are no longer using Palm oil, but, wait! There's more. (I get so tired of hearing that on TV, I just hadda use it).
It is used frequently in food products. So, people that do not eat meat (and those that do) are eating food products (Ice cream for example) that are damaging the environment and harming the animals of the forest.
