Hawaiian Pizza

I had all the ingredients for a Hawaiian pizza and was talking to my house guest about it. Turns out, she loves them, too!

So, we made one for breakfast. It was delicious, but we like a thinner crust. Will cut the crust in half next time and make 2 pizzas.

I must say, though, that the crust was perfectly cooked! Will do this again.

Here's what we did:

Lee and Christine's Hawaiian Pizza

A bag of storebought pizza dough, oiled and set in a bowl for an hour or so
Some ham pieces
Some fresh pineapple pieces
Some shredded mozzarella
Some marinara sauce

Preheat pizza stone in oven to 450.

Heat ham pieces in a frying pan until they dry out a bit and brown just a little. Do the same thing with the pineapple pieces, to dry them out and intensify the flavor.

Form pizza dough into a shape that will fit on the corn meal'd peel, and put the formed dough on the peel. Brush lightly with olive oil. Bake on stone for 10 minutes.

Remove crust from oven. Spread just a little sauce on, then cheese, then ham, then pineapple.

Brush edge of crust with olive oil.

Return pizza to oven for 10 more minutes.

Let rest for 5 minutes.

I tried it this time with a couple of storebought naan flatbreads.

Pretty good, but not as good as pizza dough.

Had it for dinner this time. :)
