a hundred thousand years ago before my pet dinosaur died . . .

took a road trip with a school mate to the west coast of Florida. there was not "interstate" thingie . . . . took three days....

so all along the way we had to eat. there weren't any "chain" thingies - you ate where ever it happened. fast food hadn't been invented - it was an egg and dinosaur thing.....

so I became very fond of "hominy"

so I see it nowadays in a can in the veggie section. tried it. tried x, tried y. yo Adrian, not working.

so iffin I buy a can of hominy, how to I "fix" it?

this is serious - all them girt haters can excuse themselfs . . .

looks interesting - definitely will give it a try.

I liked it as simply a side dish - but the canned stuff doesn't want to taste good that way.....

this made me think about something my mother used to make a very long time ago. She would cook up some sausage and hominy and make a little pan gravy/water, milk, flour. S&P to taste

If I remember correctly, my mom used to cook a couple slices of bacon, crumble
it up, drain most of the grease, then toss in the hominy with some of the liquid.

Haven't had it for years.
