Default Sticky Chicken Wings

For the breading:
3 pounds of Chicken Wings
1 egg, slightly beaten
cup of Texas Pete Hot Sauce
1 cup of Self-Rising Flour
1 teaspoon garlic powder
teaspoon black pepper
1 cup of vegetable oil for frying

For the Sauce:
3 tablespoons of Low-Sodium Soy Sauce
3 tablespoons water
cup white vinegar
cup brown sugar
cup white sugar
teaspoon garlic powder
teaspoon salt
teaspoon ground ginger

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a medium bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder and black pepper. Mix well. Set aside.

Mix together the egg and hot sauce.

Heat the oil in a large heavy bottom skillet over medium high heat.

Dip the wings in the hot sauce/egg mixture and then into the flour.

Fry the wings in the hot oil half of them at a time turning to brown all sides.

Place the wings on a FOIL LINED baking sheet.
Mix together all of the sauce ingredients. Pour the sauce over the wings.

Bake in a preheated oven for 45 minutes basting every 10 minutes with the sauce.

**Make sure that you line your pan with foil and remove the foil and clean the pan before it cools completely or you will have a real mess.

Is Texas Petes similar to Franks at all, can I use it in place of? Oh and did you use powdered ground ginger or fresh?

Thank you

Yes, you can use Franks, I just prefer Texas Pete. I used powdered ground ginger.

While this was very easyto do, and the flavors were excellent, it's not the most flavorsome poultry side plate I've had. Awesome enough, just no 'wow factor'. They took more time to prepare than recommended but certainly finished up very soft.
