Saw the second episode last night....

I understand the premise isn't really to teach these poor souls how to cook, just to
get 2 of them good enough to attempt the final cook-off...

But you'd think they would devote a little time to basic skills and confidence building...

Yeah I'll watch more of this train wreck, I'm not proud.

(But I still don't understand how someone can screw up with a recipe....)

I always thought the food networks were about education, but for the most part they are nothing more than a "me too" reality TV network. If you want to learn something, you have watch Alton in the late night time slots or go take a class at a local community college or municipal recreation department. What Food TV provides for programming is a pitiful joke, and just adds to the dumbing down of America, IMO.

Yeah, he was doing a good job flustering poor Jennie. I was pulling for her, too.
I kinda wonder if the judges' like/dislike of the two chefs had anything to do with
the results....

Actually, years ago, I ate at a restaurant in San Francisco that was staffed by some (if not all) convicts/ex-convicts. The food was very good, & everyone was courteous & enthusiastic.

My favorite take-out pizza place here is owned and operated by ex-cons. I've been getting pizza there for about 15 years, but I've never given them my real name when phoning in my order. LOL
