Vancouver is just north of Washington state, so I'd say the cuisine is probably similar to Pacific Northwest American cuisine.
Cool idea! We had a Greek-themed party for the Athens Olympics - it was great fun!

Heh. I actually went to one of those in Rome in 1981 during a high-school graduation trip. 'Nuff said
I think a a toga party with decadent foods would be a blast, Lee! I can send you directions for making an authentic toga that won't leave you flashing all your "charms" and only requires 2 straight seams, a couple of metal buttons, and some rope or cord. It turns out amazing looking and very flattering.
You could have lots of wonderful finger foods (fruits, drummies, tarts, etc.), drink from big goblets and eat reclining.
