Muskoka BBQ Sauce

Seeing as BBQ season has now arrived up here, I made another batch of DW's favorite BBQ sauce. I think I got it from the Cottage Life magazine many moons ago. :bbq:

2 cups onions, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 cups water
2 beef bouillon cubes
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup cider vinegar
2 cups tomato puree
1 tablespoon celery salt
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon clove
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 cup sweet pickle relish, drained

1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan over medium-high heat and whisk until smooth.
2. Bring mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 45 to 60 minutes or until mixture thickens.
3. Allow to cool, then refrigerate in a tightly closed container at least overnight.
4. Flavors will enhance after a couple of days.

Rocket, that mixture sounds like it's designed to take your breath away - and both lungs!
Good and spicy, just the way we like best. Thanks for sharing!
