It is really good! I think next time I make this, I'll just make the full amount of batter, and split it between two loaf pans. Shorter total bake time, I think. I'll have to play it by ear.

I WILL be making this again soon. PeppA scored some overripe bananas a few days ago on the cheap. They're already mashed and frozen.

Would mini chocolate chips be better than the regular ones in this?

As for the question about oil instead of butter, I think oil might adversely affect the texture of the cake. You'd be better off using vegetable shortening, such as Crisco, which has 50% less saturated fat than butter and no trans fat.
