Record Tuna

Lefty

Yank
We have a Tuna season up here. A lot of my lobstermen buddies take a break and go for the big payoff. I went once, it was a lot of fun.

You gotta love sushi. ;-)

I remember hearing from some of the fishermen that hung around with my father when he owned a fishing camp in the Keys that save the world records for mounting an never eat them. Now from what I gathered is they tend to be older fish with a much higher chance of parasites and such with them to a man swearing that the best eating was the middle sized fish.

I hear that about Lobster too Joe.

Well now as for Lobster, I'm a bit of an expert eater of them. :brows: I prefer 2 to 3 lbs live lobster when it goes in the pot. Now smaller is the best but if one gets caught eating one you will pay a hefty fine with some jail time in some cases. At any rate I've had one 5 lb Florida Lobster that was no where as good as the average sized 2 to 3 pounders. If I'm really hungry I will eat 2 instead of 1 which is rare now as my portions have come way down over the years.
