DW & Jonathan have been skating in the Christmas Ice Shows this weekend. My DW is transformed, loads of make up and some rather skimpy costumes, she is adorable. She is also skating very well, but concentrating so hard on her moves, she forgets to smile.

JJ is full of confidence, he can be so negative about life, it is good to see him succedding at something and doing well, my only comment for him was to show he is enjoying it.

Yeah, usually picture taking is not allowed. But I think it's the camera flash more than anything else.

We're going to see Disney On Ice this evening at the Staples Center and I plan on taking some non-flash pics ... I've never been to an ice show before ....:D

Well. last show is over, party is over. All done till next year.

I thought of non - flash, but you would need a really high speed film - my digital wouldn't cope. They also said no videoing as well. They do take & sell photos and a dvd - I'm going to see if I can get the DVD and might be able to upload bits.

Very cool! Hope you are able to upload some stuff, that would be neat! I have never been to an ice show and would love to catch one sometime, I think the kids would get a kick out of too!

These are some you tubes clips from last year's show. These are the top skaters - all still amateurs. All take part from 3/4 year olds just taking their first steps on ice through all levels up to these girls who are doing competitions.

Actually, at the Staples Center last night they made an announcement that picture and video taking were allowed as long as they were for personal viewing enjoyment only.
But as far as using flash, as you know, they are useless unless you're taking pics of subjects only a few feet in front of you, so you really don't have much choice there if you're trying to shoot something 50 feet away.
