I've tried kale in a lot of ways and I finally admitted to myself that I just don't like it.

We like the baby kale (or baby kale and baby spinach blend, they call it juicing greens) sautéed in the pan fond from meats (smoked ham/smoked pork chop fond is the best) with some butter and smoked olive oil and a bit of water to loosen the fond or just sautéed in the pan with some butter and smoked olive oil (Trader Joe's is brand is really good).

Try the baby kale. It's less tough and more delicate in flavor. We like it fried or sautéed.

We had a banchan once that was chopped up pretty small kale, steamed and flavored with sesame oil. Only time I have ever liked kale.

MaMa made "American Goulash!" ...... I t Was edible and filling.
I called it "Prison Food".....
It was too thick and tomatoey. I was expecting more soupy.

There was a qt. of stewed tomatoes that she picked up from this man in PA, that sells canned / jarred tomatoes and stuff from his front porch! Tomatoes were bitter. Darn! I didn't reduce the size of the pic.

They had pulled pork here last night.
I may just make myself an open faced sandwich with that.
My son is doing the grocery shopping late tonight and is bringing back a pizza for himself and DIL.

Sushi and tuna poke. The 6 pieces on the top are vege rolls (avocado, sauteed spinach, grated carrot, cucumber and green onion), the 6 pieces on the side are shrimp tempura (plus avo, carrot, cucumber and green onion). The picture of the ready to be rolled roll is Craig's spicy tuna roll with kimchi base, cucumber and green onion. The 2 sauces in the corner are a spicy mayo with sriracha and sesame oil, and wasabi of course.

It was too chilly this morning, and Mommy was all bundled up this morning.
She said,"This is chicken soup weather!" ..... so, she made a pot of chicken soup.
I had mine with iced tea; in my collectors Mirro aluminum tumbler.
Almost too cold to hold onto for a while! LOL

Tina offered to make me ice tea in a pitcher, but I asked her to make hers that way, and I would prefer making my own~ glass by glass...
The reason.... I add the 4 seasons tea and lemon to my tumbler with ice.
I don't super stir it; so that the sugar granules stay on the bottom of the tumbler. Ummmmm! Nice and sweet, and crunchy, but NOT for MOMMY to SEE! She yells at me,"Your Diabetes is gonna erupt like a volcano!"
