I've grown Scarlet Runner Beans for years, mainly because the flowers attract hummingbirds.
But I've found them tough and stringy to eat, even if I cook the heck out of them.
This year, I let the beans dry out completely and easily de-podded them. Got a little more than a 4-ounce jar of dried beans (I will save some to plant in the Spring).
I know I can cook and use them in soups and salads, and I could eat them as a side, like lima beans.
Any other ideas?
Pretty, aren't they?
