Annie Edson Taylor leaped from the Golden Gate Bridge as she cuddled her pet
cat, Mr. Speckles, in a pet cat murder/suicide.
Annie was killed instantly, but Mr. Speckles survived, and swan near a boat,
whose crew pulled him out of the water.

CRAP !!
This is wrong on so many levels ! First, no cat would have stayed put during
the climb over the railing. Any normal cat would have clawed their way out
of that suicidal situation, I'm sure !
And as for Annie, well, she went over all right, but not the railing of the
Golden Gate Bridge.
Annie Edson Taylor was an American schoolteacher who, on her birthday,
October 24, 1901, became the first person to survive a trip over Niagara
Falls in a barrel. Her motives were financial but she never made much money
from her adventure.
