This Picture Was Taken in 1918.

It is 18,000 officers and enlisted men preparing for WWI in a training camp at Camp Dodge, in Iowa. Scroll all the way down and you can see their faces in the first rows.

Are you asking how many people are standing together in a pattern that resembles the statue...or how many people it took to build it?
