HAM AND SWISS CASSEROLE

8 tablespoons (one stick) butter
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green Bell pepper
one (10 and three-quarter ounce) can condensed cream of celery soup, undiluted
1 cup sour cream
8 ounces noodles, cooked and drained
2 cups or more shredded Swiss cheese
3 cups cubed cooked ham (sugar cured is best)
1 cup fresh bread crumbs

preheat the oven to 350. Butter a 3 quart casserole.
Melt 4 tablespoons of the butter in a medium skillet over medium heat and sauté the onion and bell pepper until soft, about 5 min.
Stir in the soup and sour cream.
In the prepared dish, layer 1/3 of the noodles, one third of the cheese, one third of the ham, and half the soup mixture. Make a second layer the same way. Make a third layer of ham, noodles, and cheese only.
