No clue Lucky.
Last I knew Mama had a family member who was ill.
As for Bam and Texas Girl..no idea.
I miss the old days when a bunch of us were here and active.
Not saying it's not fun now or anything.
But there was a time.

Mama's website (I think it's called "Mama's Southern Cooking") took up a lot of her time and attention.

I don't know about Bam and Texas Girl.

How about Embryodad????

Yes Lee, Jimmy.
Also Barb/homecook.
I notice mexicokaren has been on now and then.
Perhaps they are on another foodie place.
I joined dc a while back but found them a little...oh I don't know.. cliquey?
Sometimes judgemental of this or that?
We cook, create, eat and share.
All the drama should be left the other side of the umm.. kitchen door lol

I just saved mama's website. When I first started with foodie forums she was around.

I like the Southern cooking websites but with this goofy dieting it's hard to stay on track, IYKWIM.

Barb/homecook is on Facebook, as is JoeV. so I see their posts there.

Most of both of their Facebook posts are not related to cooking, although Joe does occasionally post photos of his bread.

it's not just here, or the topic. the on-line Forum format is in seriously decline - one could say near death. mobile devices, tweets, snapchat, etc. have taken over.

it's time came and has gone - altho my bet is,,, just as Facebook is now achieving has-been status, eventually the Forum format will resurge. the alternatives are just too clumsy.

I got involved with CompuServe Forums in the late '80's - I've watched the medium slow and now gasp for breath. some of the CompuServe forums have survived - moved to Forumania.com - but there are no new users - I recognize every name there from the 80's-90's-00's - when us old geezers are all dead, there will be no one there.

I hated Facebook for years, from the time it became a thing.
Now I've got an account there, but it's only for family, finding distant relatives and keeping in touch with former co-workers.

First time I ever discovered a media for mixing with virtual strangers was back in the early days of internetdom...the old msn chats lol
Then came these places known as forums.
I've been with doc and the forums for almost 11 years now.
It's been quite a ride with lots of bumps, fun, laughter and yes.. even tears.
Wouldn't change a thing looking back.

I met mountainman who was Muleman on doc's forumsforums.
Nice guy, funny as heck!
He came this way to pick up some bees.
We went to dinner at Bob Evans.
The waitress asked if it was just the two of us.
He replied " yes, we left the 7 kids at home" lol
He met my dachshund Gretchen ..rest her little soul.
She loved him and knew he was an animal person.
We drove out to Blue Creek wind farm, I showed him the farm where I rode horses and he wanted to see "Lady"...my pink and black Ruger.
Good memories!
