Ultimate Fondue

1 c. Velveeta, cubed
1 c. Swiss cheese, cut into small pieces
1 can Cream of shrimp soup
1 c. milk
1/2 tsp. cayenne
1/2 tsp. paprika
lobster, crab, shrimp, or imitation crabmeat
Sourdough bread bowl

Combine everything except seafood in saucepan and heat over low heat until melted, stirring occasionally. When melted, stir in seafood. Garnish with red bell pepper. Serve in a sourdough bread bowl. Use bread pieces from making the bowl to dip in.
I hollow out the bread, cut up the pieces and put in oven at 375 for about 10 minutes to crisp the inside before putting in the mixture.

I made this for dinner tonight along with crab legs. I used crabmeat, shrimp and imitation lobster meat in this.

looks awesome, homey.

but in all seriousness, what is (genuine, lol) imitation lobster made from?

i'm afraid to ask homey if it's the same as imitation crab. you know, alaskan pollocks. :whistling:

Then don't ask.... The MAJORITY of what I used was crabmeat from the legs and shrimp. I used the other stuff for filler. LOL

Does that settle it once and for all???

when i worked at the deli we had sea legs (the long sticks with the red tint on one side) and imitation crab/lobster (that looked like lump meat or out of the shell cleaned meat) salads. i asked what it was and was told that it was the scraps of fish all mixed together and sold as such because it couldn't be sold with a name that would mislead the customer into thinking it was the real stuff. sort of like pressed and formed chicken roll or veal and chicken "patties" etc. not sure if it is completely accurate but it makes sense to me.
