very easy recipe

boiled a 3 1/2 pound lobster. let it cool on a plate. as we were cleaning the meat from it, we kept two cups of the leftover liquid.

to a dutch oven we:
sauted 2 medium chopped onions
added 2 tablespoons of minced garlic
deglazed the pan with some Merlot
added:
thyme
oregano
black pepper
basil

poured lobster stock, 2 jars of marinara sauce. reseasoned and let simmer, it got a little thick so we thinned it down with more of the liquid we boiled the lobster in.

the last moments of cooking
added:
1 bunch of chopped parsley
scallops
lobster meat
clams
shrimp
ocean catfish

lowered heat, put lid on and simmered for about 12 minutes until the clams opened

That looks fantastic, Jeff.

I never would have thought to use marinara in it. I've only ever used can tomatoes and fish stock so it's more a broth. I'll have to give your way a try.

we just added more lobster stock at the end to thin it down a touch. i cooked it like a pasta sauce to concentrate the flavors first.
