Thanks guys - just had a lazy day and then did a lazy roast dinner. Ready made stuffing, ready to cook roast potatoes & parsnips, ready made gravy. All I had to do was shove stuff in the oven & top & tail the beans (out of the garden)

My name is Bill but I respond to being called a lot of things. I have a 107 acre farm on the NY/Pa border with mostly Amish neighbors. I grew up in southern York county Pa. so my food is heavily influenced by Penna. Dutch food. I like to butcher my own animals and smoke meats and make real scrapple. Look forward to trying some new and different things in the kitchen. I built two heated greenhouses and we raise things year round. We have a 1/2 acre fenced garden and 4 laying hens so we have fresh eggs most of the year. Have really gotten into herbs and dehydrating our own food. Make our own tea with about 5 different varieties we have here on the farm. This year we got into honey bees since we have for the most part eliminated processed sugar from our cooking. This is a big maple syrup area so we use maple sugar a lot.

Wow MM....that is wonderful! Sounds like you're pretty self sufficient!
My sister started raising bees this year too....I'm hoping she'll send me some honey!
