I was going though some of my late mother's papers and found this recipe for Red Lobster Biscuits. They are similar to the cheddar cheese scones I get at our favorite breakfast place in Victoria.

Red Lobster Rolls

2 cups buttermilk baking mix
2/3 cup milk
1/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1/4 cup butter or oleo
1/2 tsp garlic powder

Combine first three ingredients, and mix with a wooden spoon until soft dough forms. Beat vigorously for 30 seconds. Drop dough by heaping tablespoon onto un-greased cookie sheet. Base at 450 degree F. oven 8-10 minutes, until golden brown.
Combine butter with garlic powder; brush over warm biscuits before removing them from cookie sheet. Serve warm.

Buttermilk Baking Mix

It works in any recipe that calls for a baking mix like Bisquick.
10 1/2 cups flour.
1/4 cup baking powder.
1 1/2 tablespoons salt.
1/2 cup sugar.
2 cups shortening.
1 cup buttermilk powder.
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda.

Thanks, I've tried the boxed RL mix, and they tasted nothing like the restaurant.
