oh, my- yep. many a time. i'm a fan of listening to your mind, instinct, & hankerings. i won't follow a recipe, unless 'm working fer someone & customers expect consistent food items.
The first time I tried to make potato dumplings they all fell apart in the water. I just added a bit of roux and some cream and ended up with a pretty tasty potato soup.
At the time, I was tired of ordinary fried or baked chicken, and I DEFINFINITELY don't like all that blasted stinking hot sauce that they smother on the chicken wings after they come out of the fryolator or oven!!
At first, I didn't really know how these would come out, but now, I'm so glad that I discovered it!! Very tasty with the sweet & sour combined while using just a hint of heat & smokey flavor!!
