Pickle Question

I'd absent-mindedly put a fairly new jar of pickles, the stacker type - bread and butter ones, in the cupboard after they were opened.
Found them this morning and wonder if they are still good to use?

Only used maybe 3 out of the jar on a burger the time I opened them- about 2 or so weeks ago.
Dipped a small spoon in and tasted the juice and it seemed okay.
The pickles, however were floppy and soft.
So I put them back in the fridge for now.
Yeah, I know I could just pitch them and buy a new jar, but was curious.

this on could start a long discussion. LOL. Pickling is a preserving process. I think that I am reading that they were out for two weeks. Tough call, at least for me. If I had to venture an opinion, after two weeks I would err on the side of my stomach and toss.

The younger me ate things that we should not talk about. After all, males are the speies that will eat off the floor LOL. Later on the consequences are not fun. LOL

I'd toss 'em. They might be okay but it's not worth the risk for a couple of bucks.

Yeah, I'd chuck them, Sass. Overnight, okay. Two weeks? Probably not.

I've since poured the juice down the drain and threw the jar in the trash.

Lesson learned;
Pay attention to your pickles, Sass.:bonk:
