Do Ineed to buy something on a stick or is there something that I can use for it, like a heavy can of tomato sauce? What do you all recommend?

thanks

You could use a rolling pin, wine bottle, heavy fry pan or do like I did and used my hubby's rubber mallet. lol I wrapped it in saran first though. I used it so much I went and bought one just for the kitchen. hehe

A plan old hammer will work also, anything with some weight to it. I agree though cover it with wrap first though.

I put mine in a ziploc to keep it from splattering. Besides that you can use just about anything. The idea is to even out the thickness, and not to obliterate it...

I agree, make sure its wrapped and use a rolling pin or anything else heavy. You can buy meat mallets, but I wouldn't bother unless you are going to do it a lot.

Lot's of good ideas here, I use the rubber mallet and plastic wrap method just cause I have been too lazy to buy the real deal.:hammer:

But I like the idea of using the car, would put a neat pattern in it, LOL!:yum:
