I really liked the way they did it too Chow.... I loved Hurt in it, perfect for the part.

I saw Year of the Dog last night, odd movie, but I liked it.

i couldn't sleep last night, so i stayed up and watched "death on a factory farm".

another leftist slanted documentary. this time i have to agree with the conservative right. and i love pork. :thumb:

i've personally assisted with bludgeoning a pig to death (something i'll never forget), so hanging doesn't seem that much worse. yeah, i understand that it takes a long time, but these animals are there to be slaughtered. is 4 or 5 minutes too long when you are putting a downed animal to death? it seemed humane in a way.

a bullet would be better, of course, but the farmer might get it as well. lethal injection is economically impractical, not to mention that it would require more time for the beast to suffer being alive until a vet could perfom the task.

i thought the prosecution should have concentrated on describing the amount of time electrocution or a captive bolt takes. that would have served their case that hanging is cruel because of how long it takes a pig to asphyxiate.

the whole thing is an ugly business, so i don't blame the farmer. i wouldn't want to do it.

although i'd consider hanging or bludgeoning a few lawyers...

lol, I saw Year of the Dog Sunday (I think it was), Sattie.
Very odd movie, but very watchable, too.

I enjoyed it as well.... not the kind of movie I would expect out of Molly Shannon.

BT... that sounds like a hard movie to watch. I get emotional about stuff like that.

sattie, it wasn't that bad, really. i guess the tasty boneless pork ribs that i munched on during it helped.

talk about dinner and a movie.

DirecTv is free this weekend and I just caught a movie called Wild Hogs which is hystrical. A story about 4 urban bikers that decide to travel cross country on motorcycles to add some spice to their rather mundane lives. It stars Tim Allen, John Trovalta, Martin Lawarence and William H. Macy as the four guys with appearences by Ray Liotta and many others.

For the rest of the week I have a few more to watch. House Bunny, 21, Death Race, National Treasure 2, and Zohan.

Just watched “Twilight”.

What a wonderfully fun movie that was. It’s a Vampire flick, but with a twist. It’s also a “teenie” movie as the main characters are teens, but it is done very well…..and face it, we’re all young at heart.

I love the twist on the Vampire story, and it is a love story of sorts. Very fun, a bit of action, some suspense, nice character build up, and some good suspense building as well. The “kitchen” scene is to die for and all NCTers should at least see that part!!!

Over all, 4.5 out of 5 stars.

I just watched that movie the other night with my son. I'm not into the vampire type movies but I have to say it was pretty good. My son's girlfriend is so into that movie!

The baseball scene was the best!! That would be so cool to play like that. I agree about the kitchen scene also. lol

i couldn't sleep the other night, so i watched "no country for old men". very good movie. i was on the edge of my seat for most of it.

then, since i was still awake and couldn't find the remote, and i broke my legs, and had a temporary stroke so i couldn't get up to change the channel, i watched "sex in the city", the movie.
it wasn't as bad as i'd thought it would be. but i need to get rid of the picture of cynthia nixon getting the snot banged out of her out of my mind. {{{{{shudder}}}}}}}}

it's like eleanor roosevelt in a porno...

That "No Country for Old Men" is an excellent movie. I have Twilight that I will be watching probably tomorrow night and watched "Death Race" last night. Don't know why Monday nights are so bad on TV and always seems to stink regardless of the year. Always a dead zone.

Death Race was OK though not a great work of art but a lot of action in the vain of a one of the Transporter movies which has the same guy staring.

I also caught Sex in the City the other night on one of my premium channels. It was OK and reminded me why I like the big blond the best of the bunch too.

lol, i guess it's a guy movie.

i guess it's a macho thing to "never quit, no matter what the cost", and to be able to tough out the worst life throws at you.

No question, a guy movie. Thanks, Tom!

They just don't make enough movies like Dirty Dancing. "No one puts Baby in the corner". :in_love:

That is funny Lee since I think the last 3 movies I've watch have been chick flicks, Sex in the City (Movie), Twilight and August Rush. Now I enjoyed them especially August Rush but didn't get into it like the women in my life did.

I agree with Tom too that Now Country for Old Men was a man's movie.

You think Twilight was a chick flick? Well, it was a love story more than a vamp movie. Very little blood (maybe a whole 2 cups through the whole movie), gore, or killing.....not even much show of teeth. But I don’t know that I’d say it was a full blown chick flick.

What did you think about the baseball scene?

Sure I would consider it a teen chick flick really. Now True Blood on HBO is more and Adult men's version of vampires. Oh and the baseball game was a great scene also though I found the one with him showing off in the woods for her perhaps a bit better. Now I enjoyed all 3 of the ones I listed with August Rush moving into my top 10 list but still I consider them chick flicks more than a "man's" movie but then I rate Steel Magnolias in my top 10 all time list also.

I've also seen a few others lately that I enjoyed such as No Reservations among others.

I can see that. It was a fun movie, but a bit soft to be a "Man's" movie. No Vin Diesel, no Chuck Norris..........there was that one seen with some bone breaking though!

But you're right, it's a bit "soft". Definitely not Punisher 2 material.

Still, as you said, I liked it! The baseball scene was really fun and worth the price of admission.

I don't consider movies like the Punisher, a Chuck Norris, etc as men's movies either more a teen boy movie. Now I've seen Vin Diesel in both teen boy movies, chic flicks as well as men's movies so he pretty well has covered all the groups. I actually consider a man's movie more of something along the lines of The Godfather, A Few Good Men, The Devinci Code, historical pieces, good science fiction or even fantasy like Lord of the Rings. However those thing can also cross gender lines as well much like and August Rush or a Steel Magnolias.

Now with that said there are times I don't want to think, be concerned with social issues so I like all movies if I catch them in the right mood can be fun or entertaining.

I prefer my movies to take me away. I don't like political movies or current events. Give me fantasy. I can watch real world on the news! Ever see A Knight's Tale with Heath Ledger? Great flick!

You know, I just read the first book - Twilight. I didn't expect to like it but I did! Now, I'm kinda wanting to see the movie.

And I watched Big Stan a couple of nights ago. It's got Rob Schneider and David Carradine. I enjoyed it - laughed a lot. If you liked Deuce Bigalow - American Gigolo, you'll probably like this.

FM, I after reading the book, the movie isn't so good. It is a good movie though. You need to read, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. You will go nuts!!
Glad to see you back too!!
