Default Steamed Shrimp

Our youngest daughter (well, she turned 50 this month, but she is still the youngest) and her husband came down from Olive Branch, MS (a Memphis suburb) for a short visit and we had Steamed Shrimp along with small boiled red skinned Potatoes and some fresh Corn on the cob. Great meal! We like steamed Shrimp better that the boiled kind.
Fresh Shrimp is easy to come by down here since we are only about 10 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. The price is not that much lower that it is in other parts of the country, but it is fresher and taste GREAT. If you decide to try steamed Shrimp and your Shrimp are frozen make sure that they are defrosted and have the shells on them.

Old Baỷ Seasoning
Tony Chachere’sâ Original Creole Seasoning
Water
No measurements for the ingredients are listed since they vary each time shrimp are steamed. Add two inches of Water to a large pot that has either a steaming tray or basket. Bring Water to a boil. Add a teaspoon or two of both seasonings stirring to mix. Place
Shrimp on the steaming tray or in the basket. Sprinkle the Shrimp with both the Old Bay and the Tony Chachere’s to taste. The amount depends on how spices you want the steamed Shrimp to be. Place the tray or basket over the boiling water, cover and steam the Shrimp for about 4 minutes.
Serve as peel and eat Shrimp with some small boiled red skinned Potatoes and fresh Corn on the cob
