Well this could be a problem too but reindeers are not hunted here, as they are reindeer herders property. It´s like you would go to shoot your neighbor´s cow. Police will contact to you... or your neighbor.

You might wish it will be police. :ermm:

heehee. well, you might be surprised how many cows get mistaken for deer in the good ole' USA huntfests...

I've had quite a bit of reindeer in Sweden - do they raise herds as a food or is it hunted?

The reindeers are raised here as a food. They live most of their life as wild but will gathering to herds together and are slaughtered here in a slaughterhouse. When the reindeers are young, their ear is cut holding a sign in order to know who owns them.

Here they are, going to the corrals, where they are divided: some will continue family and others will become a good reindeer steak.
