Help! No Vanilla Bean!

If a recipe calls for the seeds of one vanilla bean, how many teaspoons of vanilla extract does that equal to?

I googled it and it says for 1/2 a vanilla bean use 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract. So I guess 2 T. for a whole.

Oh thank you HC! I'm making hubby a new rice pudding recipe I came across and I can't find any stores around here that have vanilla beans.

Hold the phone...lol I read another that said 1 tsp. for 1/2 vanilla bean. I guess it varies.....I hope this doesn't mess things up for you.
