Default Pea Soup

Yesterday made pea soup using the Christmas dinner hambone and used the all recipes.com recipe for the soup. It was excellent.

It looks quite same like the Finnish pea soup (which is the only real and original pea soup in the world by the way).

I think I smelled your soup cooking while I was at work today, John.

All of a sudden, out of the blue, I had a hankering for pea soup! Haven't made it in ages.

Odd, huh?

Okay, so several NTC members have made pea soup lately and made me crave some.

I'm trying to use leaner meats, so instead of using smoked ham hocks, I used smoked turkey necks and a ham boullion packet (note to self: look for Ham Better than Boullion, as Cooksie mentioned).

PERFECT!

Made it in the crockpot yesterday. Always better the next day. Topped with freshly ground pepper and garlic croutons.

All set for this winter week's lunches!

Beautiful Lee!!

I couldn't find Ham base Better than Bouillon in any stores around me so I ordered it from Amazon.

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Never explain yourself. Your friends don't need it and your enemies won't believe it anyway.
