Mine (leftovers) was actually some of the wild rice from the chicken dish I'd made, as well as one of the boneless pork chops, and a hastily thrown together tomato and onion salad (with Italian dressing) - tucked in my trusty Gladware containers, which fit perfectly in the lunch tote.

Love it when I choose not to eat fast food on a dinner break.

We had sliders made with leftover porchetta from the freezer, gruyere cheese, and caramelized onions. Pan fried red potatoes as a side.

I made something last night that I was skeptical about...quicky chicken and dumplings with flour tortillas. They turned out pretty darn good. I used ready to cook thin tortillas. They don't puff up as much as rolled dumplings, which I definitely prefer, but I'd do them again.

Well, there really IS a first time for everything........

We saw that a local bistro had won "Best of Bucks County" award, so decided to give it a go............

I ordered Fried Pickles for starters.... the pickles were sliced way too thick for this dish to work. On top of that, they were left in too long and were very dark. When you bit into them, you got a mouth full of pickle and were left holding an exoskeleton of crust. ..... that said, I ate 'em !

There was a Filet Mignon Oscar on the menu. I saw this posted under the description:
"Your Filet will be butterflied and served medium, unless otherwise requested".
I ordered the filet Med.-Rare..... When the dish reached the table, the filet was seared well, but raw otherwise. So, here's the "first time" part.... I, for the first time in my life, sent a plate BACK to the kitchen. The Manager came over, apologized and said they were preparing a completely new plate. Great !
The Warden was finishing up her meal when mine finally arrived. The steak was closer to medium than medium-rare, but that was okay, much better than the blue meat I was served the first time...
With the Warden now finished, I took a few bites, then asked for a carry-out container.
The Warden's crab cakes were small, and dry, and might as well have been out of a frozen Mrs. Paul's box.
As the server was clearing away remnants of the meal, she informed us that dessert was on the house. We never order desserts when dining out, but we gladly allowed her to pack up two cheesecake slices for us to carry.

Lesson learned ; winning an on-line popularity contest does not necessarily equate to preparing a great meal :excl:

Note: As much as I enjoy Food Porn, my camera stayed on my hip... nothing to see here !

Tina mommy had a mashed potato bowl from Boston Market.

I had a ( made it myself ) Hot Pastrami and Swiss with blurps of mustard, on rye bread.
Pickles on the side. Peanut butter cookies for dessert, a beer to wash it all down with.
Here it is, 9:30, and Holy Jumbolies, ...... am I thirsty!

We ordered a pizza from Jack's.
I was the one who took most of the crusty edges.
Good pie, theirs always are.
Lots left over for 3rd shift.

Oh, I picked the green olives off mine.
:yuk: lol

It was pretty good. Craig definitely wanted more dressing though, and I had given him the bulk of it, so you might want to half again or double the amounts added at the end of the recipe.
