Down here in Lower Alabama we are able to buy some Goya Ham Seasoning. I was just wondering if any of you have seen or use any of this. It looks like this

I have not seen that product. Goya sells many Hispanic products and others, they are a good brand.
at first I thought you were talking about a seasoning for curing ham.
Must be kind of like a flavoring for beans or soup. CF

Yes, I have it and have used it in split pea soup, and in ham and bean soup, and in greens if I only have a leftover smoked/cooked ham bone.

Good to have on hand!

Each box of this Ham Seasoning contains 8 little packets. Down here in the South we season almost everything with some type of pork, be it ham, bacon, or bacon grease. I use about a half a pack in cooking grits. I add it to the water I’m using to cook the grits in. After the grits start to get thick I then add about a quarter teaspoon of dried basil and a tablespoon of butter. You can add about a quarter cup of cheddar cheese too if you like. Talk about GOOD! We had some this morning…….
