We have about 4 gallons of this going on the bar. With all the added sugar it's making additional alcohol so she ordered special lids so the jars don't explode. :ohmy:

Here is an article you might enjoy on making old world slivovitz. I have had the pleasure of drinking some superb Croatian slivovitz made by the brother of one of my 86 year old customers. It has a very, very pale blue hue to it, and is some of the best I have ever tasted. When in do work for her, I always get a small sample, as it will qualify you for a DUI if you drink much more! LOL

She used New Amsterdam Vodka. I stay away from Everclear due to a purple passion party with some gals in college back in 69. :whistle:

We must have 10 gallons of various fruit liqueurs going right now; current, black berry, red raspberry, and now plum.

The mrs started bottling her Italian plum slivovitz today.
It;s a slow process as she is running the brew through
coffee filters to make sure it's a clear product.

I had a half shot and it's a bit sweet with a long finish
and will make a nice aperitif.
