Spicy Dr Pepper BBQ Sauce "From the Test Kitchen"

I all ready had a recipe from another forum I used to belong too, but it wasnt

thick or hot as I like it, but I changed the recipe around a bit and I've come up with a "KILLER" recipe.

Once I get some more cash would anyone like a sample?

It's spicy with serreno powder & chipolty spice.

I've also kicked up the amount of brown suger from 1-1/2 cups to 2 cups. and I've slow roasted my garlic over night for that smokey slow roasted taste.

Here's what it will look like if you want a example.

"If you guys and gals don't like the onions that big I can mince them in the sample batch.

Thank you, Trish.

It's very tasty the guys recipe I used the first time was a little runny and the second I bumped the Worcestershire sauce up a tad and it didn't taste right.

Now I didn't really do nothing special except for chancing out the spices and added 1 full cup more of Brown suger.

Here's what I did to call the dr pepper bbq sauce my own recipe.

"And you don't even need to dress up in a ghost costum and have an own named Jay! to get it, LOL."

First major step,
Get a whole garlic smash it until it falls apart, Go head and take off all the skins on 6-8 cloves, but I would do the whole thing and then save the rest later.

Step 2 put the cloves on a non stick pan and slow roast the garlic on warm setting in your oven over night.
.

Major step 2.

Make the paste using my sauce recipe here.
Prep Time 15-20 minutes
Cook Time 0 minutes.
The Ingredients.

  • 1 can of Crushed tomatoes.
  • 1 Tsp Ground up Cilantro.
  • 1 Tsp Gumilo pepper spice “Homemade or store bought”.
  • 1/2 tsp sorrento chile powder “Homemade” “You’ll have to make it your self”.
  • 1 Tsp Flour .
  • Pinch Kosher salt.
  • Pinch Black pepper.
  • Pinch nutmeg.
First Puree the can of crushed tomatoes pour the puree mix in a storage container that your going to use for later use.
Once that’s done go ahead and all all the dry ingredients in order as they appear.

Now on to major step 3 putting it all together.

2 cups Dr Pepper soda
2 big diced onions ( Use half Spanish onion and half yellow onion )
1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
2 cloves minced garlic ( 6-8 cloves minced & slow roasted )
1 teaspoon each serreno powder & chipolty powder added
2 and a half cups dark brown sugar
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
no salt needed.

6oz can of tomato paste ( this is where you would put my homeade tomatoes sauce in )
mix it up and bring to a boil for about 2 minutes, then lower the heat and let it simmer for 3 hours uncovered. Make sure you taste it occasionally so you can get the RIGHT TASTE you want!. The recipe is pretty dang tasty on Ribs and alone by itself. I would recommend trying it on a pizza crust before you add the toppings.

And that's what you get.

I think I'd like this very much on smoked firm, grilled tofu steaks.
It may also taste great on salmon, or in some sort of shrimp recipe.

It's cool that you added MORE Worcestershire sauce.
That's the main ingredient I love in any recipe that contains a tomato base.
That and brown sugar, and ginger.

What will the ginger root do?

And what about candy ginger root?

You have intrigued me enough to try it, LOL.

I know the heat will add a little bite though.

I wish I could remember something I tried a long time ago.
It involved a cornmeal based pizza crust, the filling was veggie burger, tomato sauce, garlic, worcestershire, brown sugar, ginger, onions(yellow).
I made the pizza deep dish and added another cornmeal crust on top.

It was a fat pizza, if you will and tasted great.

Never do I make chili that I don't add worcestershire, brown sugar and (sometimes) ginger.

Same goes for pasta sauce.

I love fat Pizza, That's all I cook.

I hate to go to a pizza place, and order a pizza just to eat 5 or 6 slices before you feel full.

My pizza 1 slice will keep you full for the day, That's a Guarantee!

You could look up a butchers ass to see if it's a t bone, "Dang it I can't remember the movie line haha"

LOL. Anyways I guess I will keep it the same but maybe change the red coloring with with a light blue, What do you think could it work?

Are you NUTS??!!
That would ruin the whole thing.
Like Terry said, it has the look of a pizza parlor.

Don't change it, otherwise I shall drive up there and kick your formerly fat ass.
LOL
Wait.. are we talking about the site now or your BBQ sauce?
