VERY BERRY FRUIT SALAD

4 cups (total) sliced fresh peaches, nectarines, plums, and apricots


1 to 2 cups assorted fresh berries, (such as blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries; halve the strawberries)
1 to 2 cups 1-inch chunks honeydew or cantaloupe melon
1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar (optional)
three small cantaloupes, halved

in a large bowl add peaches, desired berries, and honeydew.
Toss gently until fruit is mixed. Sprinkle with lemon juice and (if using) sugar.
Toss gently until sugar is dissolved.

remove seeds from cantaloupe halves; slice a small piece of each half off to
make a sturdy base.

To serve;
spoon mixed fruit into cantaloupe halves.
