Butternut squash AND pumpkin for Turkey Day ?

We're a small family and I don't plan on cooking dish after dish. Thanksgiving is going to be turkey, baked butternut squash, and one pie or cornbread.

Squash and pumpkin are both orange so I shouldn't serve them at the same meal, right ?

I'd go with the butternut as a side dish, and the pumpkin in the pie.

But, heck, serve whatever you and your family like best!

our traditional T-Day looks like

turkey
stuffing, in the bird (the FDA can go pound sand)
mushroom gravy
deviled eggs
glazed yam/sweet potato
ye olde canned mushroom soup & green bean casserole w/ toasted almond slices
cranberry 'stuff' (long story)
crunchy tray - stuffed celery, olives, pearl onions, pickles
rolls / butter
desert - pumpkin and/or mincemeat

don't worry about "orange" - it's just another word for "tasty"

I vote for squash, pumpkin and cornbread. All in my food group. CF
