Watermelon Cheeseburgers

Watermelon cheeseburgers Orlando Sentinel

Servings: 4

Ingredients:
Four 1/4-pound hamburger patties
Four 1/2-ounce slices Vermont Cheddar cheese
Four slices (3/8”) seeded watermelon, about diameter of the
burgers (you probably have a ramekin or small bowl to use to “cookie cut” the slices)
1 Tbsp. ground pepper
Four toasted buns

Prepare your grill. Grill hamburgers, directly over fire, almost to
desired doneness*, then about a minute before they are done, place a cheese
slice on each burger.

*Meanwhile, Place watermelon slices on grill and dust with pepper to taste. Cook
until warm, about 1 minute on each side.

Build burgers with a slice of watermelon on top of each
cheeseburger.
