DW belongs to a bunch of coupon sites, including a couple of forums where they trade coupons, tips, tricks, idea, and some recipes.
We also make our own laundry detergent. I have found with our laundry that the Clorox and Clorox 2 products are well worth the money, but use generic fabric softener and our home made laundry soap and it works well! I also keep some stuff around for heavy soil (the oxyclean stuff) and for stains.
