Just had eggs bennie, so no clue for dinner this evening.
As always after a heavy breakfast, something on the lighter side.

Dogboa did a reverse sear on a 3" piece of ribeye. Mushies and caramelized onions, plus bakers and a salad. Compound butter and homemade dressing made with blue cheese.

French onion soup was requested and used up all the Walla Walla Sweets. it was excellent -- Julia child's recipe most without sugar. The mrs made a focaccia using almond flour and it came out like scones and were very good. That is all.

I'll make a meatloaf, with mashed potatoes and corn.

That sounds really good right now. I had planned meatloaf in the next couple days. With spinach, mashed and gravy. I may have to make it tonight if I can.

Looks like leftovers today and tomorrow.
Friday evening thru Monday evening I'll be with my kids again for a nice long Labor Day weekend.:mrgreen:
No telling what we'll be cooking or eating.

We had congee based on a Top Chef winning recipe that Blue Apron puts out. We bought our own ingredients,but had all the Asian stuff except black garlic, which we subbed out last time for simple roasted garlic. Wow was the black garlic an intense smell! But a good one. It has ground pork as the protein, plus we added a 6 minute egg, which I'll do a 4-5 next time. I also added a bit of water when melting the palm sugar and cooked it at a lower temp until it was all melted, then tired it up to caramelize. Iwe really liked it this time, though I'll increase the cayenne to 1/2 tsp, along with the other spices next time as Dogboa prefers things a bit more spicy.

Mario Batali's bucatini all'Amatriciani with some of the guanciale. We are liking the guanciale more and more each time we use it.
